Momochi Seaside Park (officially Seaside Momochi Beach Park) is Fukuoka City’s premier seaside destination, built on reclaimed land along Hakata Bay. The one-kilometer stretch of artificial white sand is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and beach sports like volleyball or soccer.

Beyond the beach, the Central Lawn Area (Jigyohama) offers a large open green space where visitors relax, enjoy picnics, and attend occasional large events, making the park a versatile leisure destination.

The park is part of the larger Seaside Momochi district, known for its futuristic architecture, wide tree-lined streets, and key landmarks:

• Fukuoka Tower: Japan’s tallest seaside tower at 234 meters, clad in over 8,000 mirrors. Offers 360° panoramic views of the city and Hakata Bay, and features seasonal night illuminations.

• Marizon: Mediterranean-style complex on an artificial island with restaurants, shops, a wedding hall, and ferry connections (e.g., to Uminonakamichi Seaside Park).

• Fukuoka City Museum: Showcasing Fukuoka’s history and its role as a gateway to Asia.

• Fukuoka PayPay Dome: Home stadium of the SoftBank Hawks, notable for its retractable roof.

Visitors can enjoy summer water sports, stunning sunsets, and the seasonal illumination of Fukuoka Tower. The third-floor “Lover’s Sanctuary” provides a romantic spot for couples to place heart-shaped padlocks.

• By Bus: Nishitetsu Bus from Hakata Station (~30–40 min) or Tenjin (~10–20 min), alight at Fukuoka Tower Minamiguchi stop.

• By Subway: Subway Airport Line to Nishijin or Tojinmachi Station, then walk 15–20 min.

• By Car: Accessible via Fukuoka Urban Expressway. Paid parking near the beach (~¥300 for up to 2 hours).

• Best visited late afternoon to evening for sunset and tower lights.

• Summer: rental equipment for paddleboarding, windsurfing, and other water sports.

• Romantic spot: place heart-shaped padlocks at Fukuoka Tower’s Lover’s Sanctuary.
