Kuncho Sake Brewery Museum is located within Kuncho Shuzo, one of the oldest and most respected sake breweries in Hita City, Oita Prefecture. The museum presents a comprehensive overview of Japanese sake production through the ages, featuring traditional brewing tools, fermentation equipment, and valuable historical documents dating back to the Edo period.

Visitors can experience the authentic atmosphere of a well-preserved wooden brewery while learning about Hita’s historical role as a Tenryo town—directly governed by the shogunate—which contributed to the development of high-quality water resources and refined brewing techniques.

The museum also includes a shop offering locally produced sake, and at certain times, visitors may enjoy sake tastings, including seasonal or limited-edition varieties made from Hita’s pure water and locally sourced rice.
