“Distinguished by colorful pebbles in clear water, panoramic views of Koh Rayang, a peaceful atmosphere, and one of the most beautiful sunset spots on Koh Mak.”
Laem Tukata (Doll Cape / Laem Tukkata) is a small viewpoint located at the westernmost tip of Koh Mak, Trat Province. It features a rocky cape extending into the sea, offering a peaceful and natural atmosphere. It is perfect for tourists seeking a relaxing spot away from the crowds and to experience the beauty of the sea in its pristine state.
The surrounding area consists of rocky outcrops interspersed with coastal trees, such as sea trees and salt-tolerant plants, providing both open areas with panoramic sea views and shady spots for relaxation. Beneath the clear seawater, you can see colorful pebbles, such as green, red, and brown, which are formed by natural rock erosion over a long period, creating unique patterns and colors.
This area offers a wide view of the sea, including Koh Rayang Nai and Koh Rayang Nok, which are clearly visible in the foreground. Especially on clear days, the horizon is distinct, and the seawater exhibits beautiful shades of blue. There is also a viewpoint on a low hill that you can climb to enjoy a high-angle view, which takes only a short time and is ideal for capturing panoramic images.
Geographically, Laem Tukata is a Rocky Shore coastline that changes significantly with the tide levels.
- Low Tide: Reveals rocky areas, tide pools, and details of the coastline, making it ideal for nature exploration.
- High Tide: Waves crash against the rocks, creating a dynamic seascape perfect for photography.
Laem Tukata is more suitable for enjoying the view, taking photos, and relaxing quietly than for swimming, as the coastline consists of rocky outcrops and a pebble beach without a wide sandy area. However, its highlight is being a "secret location" that is not yet crowded with tourists, making it perfect for chill-seekers and photographers.
The best time to visit is during the Golden Hour and sunset. The golden-orange light reflects off the water and rocks, creating a romantic, peaceful, and beautiful atmosphere. It is considered one of the best sunset viewing spots on Koh Mak.
