Phra Phuttha Kosai Siri Chai Maha Sakayamanee

Phra Phuttha Kosai Siri Chai Maha Sakayamanee, commonly known as "Luang Pho Phuttha Kosai," is a Buddha image in the subduing Mara attitude, blending Chiang Saen and Sukhothai artistic styles. It is the principal Buddha image of Wat Phra Bat Ming Muang Worawihan, a Royal Monastery in Phrae. Cast between April 22-24, 1955 (B.E. 2498) to replace the original image destroyed by fire, its name symbolizes victory and the auspicious greatness of Phrae. Measuring 1 Wa 5 Inches across the lap and 1 Wa 1 Sok in height, the statue shares aesthetic similarities with Phra Phuttha Chinnarat. As the provincial Buddha image, it is the focus of a major annual festival during Visakha Bucha Day.
