List of Buddha Images on the Main Altar

The main altar of Wat Chom Sawan houses a diverse collection of Buddha images, unique in both materials and artistic styles. The central figure is the Principal Buddha in the Gandhara Mudra (Requesting Rain), a golden Burmese-style statue. Surrounding it are remarkable images such as Luang Pho San (woven bamboo Buddha), the Ivory Buddha carved from a whole tusk, and a Marble Buddha enshrined in an intricately carved busabok (throne). These statues serve not only as objects of worship but also as historical testaments to the era of the teak trade by Shan and Burmese migrants in Phrae.
