Phra Thinang Khwang is a Thai-style building situated south of the northern hall within the original Thonburi Palace complex. Its placement is perpendicular (athwart) to the main throne hall, hence the name "Phra Thinang Khwang" (The Transverse Hall). Historically, it's believed to have served as private living quarters or a space for royal duties pertaining to the inner court. The architectural design prioritizes simplicity, reflecting the Thonburi era, while still maintaining an elegance fitting for a monarch.
