Tokyo Disneyland is the first Disney theme park built outside the United States. It was designed by Walt Disney’s original team, modeled closely after Disneyland in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida. However, the park is owned by The Oriental Land Company, which holds the licensing rights directly from Walt Disney, making Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea the only Disney parks not owned by the Walt Disney Company itself.
The park is divided into seven themed areas: World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland, along with two smaller areas—Critter Country and Mickey’s Toontown. Each zone offers unique attractions and experiences suitable for visitors of all ages.
In 2009, Tokyo Disneyland welcomed approximately 13.65 million visitors, ranking third among Disney parks worldwide after Magic Kingdom in Florida and Disneyland in California. Compared to other Disney parks globally, Tokyo Disneyland boasts a larger area, higher cleanliness standards, and more efficient operations.
