“A classic railway station in the city center, connecting community life and old riverside markets. Quiet atmosphere, perfect for train enthusiasts and experiencing preserved local history.”

Prachin Buri Railway Station is an important railway station on the Eastern Railway Line, connecting Bangkok with the eastern region and the Thai-Cambodian border. Located in Na Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Prachin Buri District, it is approximately 121 kilometers from Bangkok Station and officially opened on January 1, 1925, during the extension of the Chachoengsao–Kabin Buri–Aranyaprathet railway line. This period marked a significant milestone in the development of Thailand's eastern rail network in the early 20th century.

The station is under the care of the State Railway of Thailand and is classified as a “Class 1 Station” according to the Thai railway classification system. It has an elevated structure consisting of two platforms and four railway tracks, accommodating passenger and freight trains on the main Eastern line. The station plays a crucial role as a stopover point for ordinary trains running between Bangkok–Kabin Buri–Aranyaprathet, as well as trains bound for the Ban Khlong Luek border crossing, a key economic and international travel link.

The area surrounding Prachin Buri Railway Station is a traditional community, featuring markets, local restaurants, and old commercial areas that largely retain the traditional railway town lifestyle. This keeps the area retaining the atmosphere of a medium-sized city that relies on the rail system as its central hub for transportation and economy. Furthermore, the station is located not far from the Prachinburi River and the city center, providing convenient access to important tourist attractions in the province, such as Chao Phraya Abhaibhubej Hospital and cultural sites within the city.

In terms of service, the station currently handles several daily passenger trains, both ordinary and local, as part of the crucial Eastern Railway network, vital for both local travel and freight transport to the eastern region and border areas. Although not a large-scale central rail hub, it remains an important regional connection point that has been in continuous use for almost a century.
