“Conquering a short but challenging peak for a million-dollar view that combines the beauty of limestone mountains, wetlands, and the ocean in a single sweeping vista, especially the sea of mist at sunrise.”

Khao Daeng Viewpoint is one of the key landmarks of the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, located within the Sam Roi Yot District. It is the highest point for taking in the open-air scenery of the park. While the ascent to the summit involves a walking trail of approximately 700 meters, it is quite steep and requires continuous effort. Upon reaching the top, visitors are treated to an immense 360-degree vista showcasing the diverse landscape, including the complex array of limestone mountains, the Sam Roi Yot wetlands, and the expansive Gulf of Thailand.

The unparalleled charm of Khao Daeng is the view during the early morning hours. Particularly during the cool season, there is a good chance of witnessing a thick sea of mist covering the Sam Roi Yot wetlands and the limestone peaks, creating a picture-perfect scene. This is the best time to watch the sunrise, as the first light of day casts a glow upon the peaks and the mist, an impressive sight that continuously draws travelers.

The primary activity is hiking and climbing to witness the sunrise. Most visitors start their trek in the pre-dawn hours (around 5:00 AM) to reach the summit before the sun appears. Hiking in the cool air and low light offers an exciting adventure and allows the body to take in completely fresh air. The atmosphere at the peak is profoundly calm and silent, ideal for mental rest and soaking in the grand beauty of nature.

Khao Daeng Viewpoint is a favored destination for Landscape Photographers who seek a superior vantage point to capture the ecological grandeur of the mountains, wetlands, and sea. Those who enjoy exercise and challenging themselves can use this trail as a test of endurance. It is also a suitable spot for group visits to share memorable moments together.

We invite all travelers to get their shoes ready and head out to conquer Khao Daeng Peak, enriching your journey in Prachuap Khiri Khan with the memory of one of Thailand's most breathtaking scenic views.
