Railay East is a geographically distinct part of the Railay peninsula, characterized by its towering limestone karsts that isolate it from mainland Krabi, making it accessible solely by boat. Unlike its western counterpart, Railay East features a muddy coastline influenced by sedimentary deposits, which has fostered a flourishing mangrove ecosystem. During low tide, the receding waters reveal expansive mudflats that serve as a vital habitat for juvenile marine life and various bird species. A well-maintained concrete promenade runs along the shoreline, serving as the main arterial path that connects the diverse array of resorts, restaurants, and amenities tucked beneath the shadows of the limestone cliffs.

In terms of global significance, Railay East is renowned as a premier destination for rock climbing. It houses world-class limestone walls, including the famous 1-2-Call Wall and diamond cave wall offering hundreds of bolted routes that cater to everyone from beginners to expert climbers. Beyond climbing, the southern end of the beach provides access to a jungle trail leading to Phra Nang cave beach. How to Get There

Accessible only by boat. You can take a long-tail boat from Nam Mao Pier (approx. 15 mins) or charter a boat from Ao Nang to Railay West and take a short 5-10 minute walk across the peninsula to the East side.
