Tham Nam Lod (Nam Lod Cave) is under the supervision of the Pai River Wildlife Sanctuary. The main attraction is the cave itself, where the Nam Lang stream flows through the mountain, creating a cave with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. Archaeological tools and artifacts found inside suggest the cave is around 2,000 years old.

The cave is about 1 kilometer long and has three large halls:

• Tham Sao Hin Luang (Great Stone Pillar Cave): a spacious cave with many impressive stalactites and stalagmites; the centerpiece is a large stone pillar.

• Tham Tukkata (Doll Cave): features small knob-like stalactites resembling dolls, and one wall contains prehistoric paintings.

Visitors soon realize why it is called “Tham Nam Lod”: the stream flows from the cave entrance to the innermost part of the cave.

The cave passage is over 500 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 50 meters high. The water has eroded the cave for over a million years, forming three large caves: Tham Sao Hin, Tham Tukkata, and Tham Phi Man. Exploring all three caves requires rafting inside the cave.

• Tham Nam Lod is located at kilometer marker 141 on Highway 1095 (Pai–Pang Mapha). Turn right and continue about 9 kilometers. At the end of the road, you will reach Tham Nam Lod, which is under the care of the Tham Nam Lod Nature and Wildlife Study Center.

• Wear shoes suitable for rafting and cave exploration

• Bring a flashlight and waterproof gear

• Dress appropriately for damp conditions

• Respect nature and the local community

• Best visited in winter or the dry season
