“This large waterfall flows over a cliff more than 30 meters high and 40 meters wide, forming a spectacular water curtain. It is known as a “two-nation waterfall,” visible and accessible from both Thai and Lao sides. The waterfall is surrounded by lush forest, providing a cool, serene environment perfect for sightseeing, photography, and relaxation.”

Tat Hueang Waterfall features a wide, cascading water curtain that drops into a deep pool below. Situated on the Hueang River, the waterfall marks the natural border between Thailand and Laos, earning it the nickname “Thai–Lao Friendship Waterfall.” From the waterfall, the right bank is Thailand (Phu Suan Sai National Park), and the left bank is Laos.

The surrounding area is covered with rich evergreen and tropical forest, creating a vibrant ecosystem with various plant species such as large trees, ferns, mosses, climbers, and riparian vegetation. Wildlife includes small mammals, reptiles, and a variety of birds, making it an excellent spot for nature observation and birdwatching.

The best visiting season is from late rainy season to early winter (August–December), when water flow is at its peak and creates the full curtain effect. The waterfall flows year-round, offering opportunities for sightseeing in all seasons.

Popular activities include:

  • Viewing and photographing the waterfall from the top or base.

  • Walking along nature trails to observe local flora and fauna.

  • Camping at nearby designated areas managed by the park.

  • Swimming in safe pools.

Tat Hueang Waterfall is also a key point in multi-destination trips in Phu Suan Sai National Park, easily combined with visits to Nam Tok Khing, Wang Tad Waterfall, and Neun 1408.
