“A 100-meter cultural tower offering multi-floor attractions and stunning views over one of Japan’s most iconic onsen cities.”
Beppu Tower, completed in 1957, is one of Japan’s “Six Tower Brothers,” designed by the same architect as Tokyo Tower, Tachū Naitō. Standing 100 meters tall, it combines sightseeing, art, and cultural heritage in a multi-floor layout.
Floor Highlights:
-
17th Floor – 360° Observation Deck
The highest accessible floor, 55 meters above ground, provides panoramic views of Beppu City, Beppu Bay, the surrounding mountains, and the famous hot spring steam. This is the best spot for photography and appreciating the cityscape. -
16th Floor – Harbor View PC Counter
A quiet space with seating and workstations overlooking Beppu Bay. Ideal for relaxing, reading, or working while enjoying the ocean view. -
5th Floor – Kitahama Deck Sky & Light Terrace
A turf-covered terrace offering an upward view of the tower’s steel structure. This deck adds a unique perspective for architecture lovers and photographers. -
2nd Floor – Beppu Art Museum
Featuring more than 400 artworks, the museum provides cultural enrichment and a showcase of local artistic heritage. -
Inside the Building – Beppu Tower Shrine
A small shrine where visitors can pray for prosperity, particularly for business success.
The tower is beautifully illuminated at night, part of Japan’s Nightscape Heritage, offering visitors an atmospheric nighttime experience.
