Promthep Alternative Energy Station is part of a wind energy project managed by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), where wind turbines are installed to harness renewable energy from natural wind sources.

Beyond its functional role, the location has become one of Phuket’s most beautiful scenic viewpoints due to its elevated coastal position. Visitors can enjoy wide-angle views of the ocean, coastline, and surrounding landscapes.

The area includes a small parking space and open viewpoints where tourists often stop to take photos with the iconic wind turbines. It is also a popular stop along the route to Promthep Cape.

The viewpoint is especially well-known for its sunset atmosphere, offering a calmer and less crowded experience compared to major tourist spots.

Combining clean energy infrastructure with natural beauty, this location stands out as a unique landmark in southern Phuket.

• From Phuket Town, head towards Rawai Beach and continue to Promthep Cape. The viewpoint is located on a hill between Ya Nui Beach and Promthep Cape, with clear signage along the road.

• Visit around 5:00–6:30 PM for sunset views

• Expect strong winds; secure your belongings

• Bring drinking water as facilities are limited

• Be cautious when driving during rainy conditions
