“Witness the magical sandbar, experience authentic fishing village life, savor affordable fresh seafood, and enjoy romantic sunsets on the tranquil, private shores of Hat Sai Yao.”

Laem Tanyong Po and Hat Sai Yao is situated at the southwestern tip of Satun Province, at the end of Highway 4051. Geographically, it is a prominent cape jutting out into the Satun Bay and the Andaman Sea. The area is home to an ancestral Thai-Muslim community that has maintained a traditional fishing lifestyle for generations. The most iconic feature of this location is a natural phenomenon known as the "Dragon Backbone" (San Lang Mangkon). This is a massive sandbar formed by the accumulation of millions of crushed seashells deposited by converging sea currents. During low tide, a winding pathway emerges from the sea, stretching over 3-4 kilometers and connecting small islets. The distinct golden-brown hue of the shells shimmering under the sunlight gives the impression of a giant dragon's scales resting upon the emerald waters.

A short distance away lies Hat Sai Yao, a tranquil beach characterized by its long coastline lined with shady pine trees. This beach remains remarkably pristine and peaceful, as it has not been heavily commercialized. Visitors can enjoy a truly authentic atmosphere, watching the daily routines of local fishermen as they sail their traditional kolae boats into the sea. Because Laem Tanyong Po is adjacent to rich marine territories, it serves as a primary hub for fresh seafood in Satun. The local restaurants along the shore are renowned for serving exceptionally fresh catches at affordable prices, offering traditional Southern Thai dishes that reflect the local palate.

Beyond its natural beauty, the Tanyong Po community is the birthplace of the province's famous OTOP (One Tambon One Product) product: "Tanyong Po Shrimp Paste" (Kapi). Made from fresh local krill using traditional, chemical-free fermentation methods, it possesses a unique aroma and savory depth that is highly sought after by culinary enthusiasts. A visit to this cape is therefore more than just a seaside excursion; it is an immersive journey into the local wisdom and the sustainable harmony between the people of Satun and the Andaman Sea.
