“Experience the serene beauty of perfectly arranged pine rows in a clean and well-maintained environment, perfect for relaxation and landscape photography in cool weather year-round.”

Bo Kaeo Pine Tree Garden officially known as the Bo Kaeo Silvicultural Research Station, was established in 1966 as part of a research project to survey raw materials for paper pulp. Various species of pine, both indigenous and exotic, were experimentally planted here. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,100 meters above sea level, the park enjoys a cool climate and ideal humidity for highland pines. This has resulted in a dense and magnificent pine forest covering over a thousand rai along the main road toward Mae Sariang District.

The unique charm of Bo Kaeo Pine Park lies in its perfectly aligned rows of pine trees that stretch as far as the eye can see, creating beautiful visual lines and depth. This is particularly breathtaking in the early morning when soft sunlight filters through the trees and a light mist drifts by. The atmosphere is quiet and tranquil, reminiscent of pine forests in Korea or Europe, making it a highly popular destination for tourists and photographers to capture impressive moments.

The site management and cleanliness of Bo Kaeo Pine Park are exceptional. Despite being an open area along a major highway, the interior remains remarkably clean and well-maintained. The ground beneath the pines is kept clear of weeds and litter, providing a clean and pleasing aesthetic that allows visitors to fully relax and enjoy the scenery. This orderly environment enhances the vibrant green of the needles and the natural brown of the trunks, making the entire area visually soothing.

Beyond being a scenic photography spot, Bo Kaeo Pine Park serves as an important forestry research area. Visitors can observe a wide variety of pine species, such as Caribbean Pine, Oocarpa Pine, and Khasya Pine. A visit here is a perfect blend of relaxation in a fresh, clean atmosphere and witnessing the success of sustainable economic forest management. It is a refreshing pit stop that re-energizes travelers before they continue to other destinations in Mae Hong Son or Chiang Mai.

The orderly beauty of Bo Kaeo Pine Park reflects the successful integration of academic forest planning and sustainable management. This living silvicultural station not only provides visitors with fresh, crisp air but also serves as a natural classroom showcasing the diversity of highland pine species. Currently, the station has organized parking areas and walking paths to ensure that tourists can safely and easily access the most scenic photography spots. Strict cleanliness standards are maintained to ensure the forest’s simple yet powerful charm remains unblemished. Bo Kaeo Pine Park is, therefore, more than just a roadside stop; it is a high-quality eco-tourism destination.
