“Be amazed by the grandeur of Nan Phae, the tallest and most beautiful tier of the waterfall, and relax in the clear natural pools surrounded by lush forest.”
Tha Phae Waterfall is a majestic waterfall with historical significance, as it once served as a troop resting area in the past. It also reflects the rich ecosystem of the Khao Luang mountain watershed, one of the most important forest areas in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Water flows down steep cliffs in powerful streams, creating a misty white curtain that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding evergreen forest.
The most popular level is Nan Phae, the tallest tier of the waterfall, where water plunges from a high cliff into a wide pool below. This area is ideal for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying nature at close range. Higher up are Nan Khoi and Nan Tak Fah, each offering unique rock formations and water flows. As you walk deeper into the area, the atmosphere becomes increasingly peaceful and secluded.
The paths leading to each level are well-maintained nature study trails, safe and easy to follow. Along the way, visitors will encounter ferns, moss, and large trees that provide shade throughout the journey. With water flowing year-round, Tha Phae Waterfall can be visited in every season, especially during the dry season when the water remains crystal clear and refreshingly cool.
The surrounding area is clean, well-organized, and suitable for relaxation, with designated spots for sitting and enjoying the soothing sound of flowing water. The waterfall is also an important natural learning site, home to rare wild orchids and fern species. The beauty of Tha Phae Waterfall lies in the perfect harmony of rocks, water, and forest, making it one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Sitting by the waterfall and letting the sound of water wash over you is truly one of the most rewarding experiences of the journey.
