It was built to honor the legacy of Betong’s very first postbox, which dates back to 1924. The concept for this colossal replica was born when the Betong Municipality realized that the original postbox at the Clock Tower—located on a narrow sidewalk with limited space—could no longer safely accommodate the massive influx of tourists wishing to capture this historic icon.

Statistics and Grandeur: This replica is designed to be 3.5 times larger than the original, reaching a total height_ of approximately 9 meters (equivalent to a 3-story building) including its concrete base. The structure is made of reinforced concrete and painted in the vibrant "Post Office Red" typical of vintage Thai postal boxes. The top of the box features a replica broadcast speaker, meticulously modeled after the original's function during the war era, when Betong’s first postbox served as a "community radio station" to announce vital news to the townspeople.

A Living Symbol of Connection: Despite its massive, sculpture-like appearance, this postbox is "alive." It continues to function as a genuine mail collection point. A mail slot is integrated into the side of the base, allowing postal officers to collect letters and postcards and enter them into the official delivery system. This reflects the deep-rooted connection the people of Betong have with communication; even in the digital age, this giant box continues to bridge the distance, sending heartfelt messages from the southernmost tip of Thailand to destinations worldwide.

Tourism Significance: Today, the postbox at the Community Center has become a "Must-Visit Landmark" for both Thai and Malaysian tourists. By Car: From the Betong Clock Tower, drive along Sukayang Road for approximately 500 meters. You will find the Betong Community Center on your right. The giant postbox stands prominently in the front plaza. Parking is available along the street or within the community center’s parking lot
