Due to the geography of Sui Thang, which consists of a high ridge surrounded by multiple deep valleys, moisture accumulates overnight and condenses into vast layers of fog. These fog banks blanket the valleys below before gradually drifting with the morning wind.

What makes Sui Thang particularly famous is the phenomenon known as "flowing mist." Unlike a typical sea of mist, visitors can observe masses of white fog moving continuously through mountain gaps, resembling rivers flowing across a gigantic landscape. At certain moments, the mist rises to eye level and envelops the viewpoint itself, creating the sensation of standing above the clouds. Although it is located along one of Doi Ang Khang's primary travel routes, the number of visitors is considerably lower than at Mon Son Viewpoint or the Royal Agricultural Station. This allows travelers to fully immerse themselves in nature, listening to the wind passing through the trees and the songs of mountain birds while enjoying the serene environment. In front of the military base, small stalls operated by local villagers and hill tribe communities are available during the tourist season. These vendors sell hot drinks, simple local foods, and agricultural products from Doi Ang Khang, including hot tea, Arabica coffee, roasted corn, roasted sweet potatoes, seasonal strawberries, and cool-climate fruits and vegetables. The best time to visit is from November to February, the winter season on Doi Ang Khang. Morning temperatures may drop below 10 degrees Celsius on certain days, and the likelihood of dense sea-of-mist formations is at its highest. The late rainy season and early winter period between September and October is also highly recommended, as the mountains remain lush and green while large-scale sea-of-mist displays frequently occur.

• By Private Car: From Doi Ang Khang Royal Agricultural Station, take Highway No. 1340 toward Chai Prakan District (the Ban Arunothai route). Drive along the steep and winding mountain road for approximately 11 kilometers. The military operations base is located directly beside the main road, and parking is available along the roadside in front of the base.

• By Public Transportation: Access by public transportation is quite limited. It is recommended to hire a local songthaew from Doi Ang Khang and inform the driver in advance that you would like to include Sui Thang Viewpoint in your sightseeing itinerary.

• Best viewing time: 06:00–08:00 AM. This is when the sun begins to rise and the sea of mist is at its thickest. Arriving later may result in the fog dispersing under stronger sunlight.

• Try some warm local snacks: Small roadside stalls opposite the viewpoint sell roasted sweet potatoes, grilled corn, instant noodles, and hot tea. These are perfect for warming up while enjoying the misty scenery.

• Bring warm clothing, hats, and gloves, especially during December and January.

• Exercise caution on the viewing platform during periods of dense fog or when surfaces are wet and slippery.

• Since this is an active military operations area, visitors should strictly follow all posted regulations, avoid entering restricted zones, and refrain from making excessive noise.
