“Experience peace in a bamboo homestay located in the heart of the most beautiful rice terraces in Thailand, with sunset views over lush green fields.”
Baan Rabiang Na Pa Bong Piang is a homestay-style accommodation located in Pa Bong Piang Village, a settlement of the Pga K’nyau (Karen) hill tribe. It is situated in the high altitude area of Mae Chaem, connecting to Doi Inthanon. This area is widely acclaimed as the most beautiful rice terraces in Thailand. Because of the steep mountain terrain, villagers must grow rice in steps along the hillsides, creating a grand and magnificent work of natural art that looks like a painting, attracting travelers from all over the world to see it once in their lifetime.
The unique identity of Baan Rabiang Na is providing a true minimalism experience. Each cottage is built with bamboo and natural materials, positioned at the edge of the fields so guests can see a panoramic view of the rice terraces from their private balcony. There is no electricity and no internet signal in most spots, allowing visitors to completely disconnect from the chaotic outside world and instead listen to the sounds of nature, frogs, and water flowing through small irrigation canals. This is a rare charm of relaxation that is hard to find in modern urban society.
The popular visiting times are divided into three main periods based on the color of the fields. It starts with the Sowing Season (July-August), where you see water in the fields reflecting the sky beautifully. Next is the Green Season (September-October), when the rice plants are fully grown and turn the entire valley lush green. Finally, the Harvest Season (November) brings a change to a shimmering golden yellow with the scent of ripe rice. In the early morning, a light mist often floats over the mountain peaks, creating a fresh and impressive atmosphere for those who love cold weather.
The main activity at Baan Rabiang Na is walking along the rice ridges to absorb the agricultural way of life and take beautiful photos. Especially when the sun is about to set, the soft sunlight hits the rice grains and the water surface in the terraces, a scene loved by photographers and artists. Furthermore, guests will taste local food cooked from community ingredients, such as pounded rice and fresh local vegetables, served in simple sets but full of warmth and friendship from the host.
Baan Rabiang Na Pa Bong Piang is more than just a place to stay; it is a cultural and natural learning center that teaches us the value of simplicity and living sustainably with the forest. This place is perfect for couples seeking natural romance, groups of friends wanting to spend time talking without mobile phone distractions, or even solo travelers seeking inner peace amidst the embrace of one of Asia's grandest rice terraces.
We invite you to slow down your life, sleep under the stars, listen to the sounds of the fields, and wake up to the magic of the green fields at Baan Rabiang Na Pa Bong Piang. You will surely fall in love with the tranquility here.
