“Experience the traditional fishing lifestyle up close on a small island blessed with peaceful nature.”

Perid Island an island with a fishing village community, located southeast of Chanthaburi, in Ko Predit Subdistrict, Laem Singh District. It is a small island connected to the mainland. Most of the area is surrounded by the sea, with Chaloem Burapha Chonlathit Road serving as the connecting route. The terrain consists of hills, cliffs, and rocky areas. To the north and east, there is a fishing community, with a temple, a shrine, and a pier.

The name 'Ko Prid' has several theories suggesting that

1) The name Koh Pert comes from the Khmer language, meaning deer. It is written in Thai as Perd / Prit  and pronounced similarly to Pert, but with an r-sound blended in a Khmer accent.

2) In the past, this area was a resting and overnight stop for Chinese merchants traveling by junk boats. They stayed here to shelter from monsoon winds, and because the sea here is wide open toward the Gulf of Thailand, the place became known as “Koh Perd” (the Open Island).

3) There was once an epidemic outbreak on the island, causing many deaths and forcing residents to flee. Later on, new settlers moved in and changed the name to Koh Prit / Koh Pert to ward off bad luck and bring good fortune to the community.

The highlights of Koh Prit include its old fishing village, several scenic cliff viewpoints (Phasuk Nirun Cliff, Sunshine Cliff, and Sky Café), Wat Koh Prit, the pier for boat trips to Koh Kwang, the Prince Chumphon Shrine, the Koh Prit Guardian Spirit Shrine, the Pink Rock Ground, and many more attractions.

In addition, Koh Prit also offers local homestays and fresh seafood restaurants that serve ingredients directly from the village’s fishing pier.
