Thep Sadet Waterfall is a natural waterfall hidden amidst the lush green forest of Thep Sadet sub-district, Doi Saket district, Chiang Mai province. It originates from a natural stream in a pristine headwater forest. The water flows over layers of small and large rocks into the pool below, creating beautiful scenery and a cool atmosphere throughout the year, especially during the rainy season when the water is particularly abundant.

The area around the waterfall is a high-humidity hill evergreen forest, surrounded by ferns, moss, and various plant species, making the air fresh. It is suitable for leisurely walks, listening to the sound of flowing water, photographing nature, and experiencing the tranquility of the forest. Occasionally, birds and small wild animals can also be seen living naturally.

Thep Sadet sub-district is also renowned for cultivating quality Arabica coffee, Miang (fermented tea leaves), and winter fruits. Tourists can visit coffee gardens or purchase agricultural products from the community while exploring the waterfall. It is another destination for nature and community-based tourism that maintains its simplicity.

Although Thep Sadet Waterfall is not as large as many famous waterfalls in Chiang Mai province, it possesses a unique charm in its natural beauty, tranquility, and fewer crowds. • From Chiang Mai city, take Highway No. 118 (Chiang Mai–Chiang Rai) heading towards Doi Saket district. Then, turn onto the road to Thep Sadet sub-district, following signs to the waterfall. The final section of the route is a winding and rather narrow uphill road. It is accessible by both private cars and motorcycles, but driving should be done with caution, especially during the rainy season.

• Wear non-slip shoes, as rocks might be mossy.

• July–December is when the waterfall is most beautiful and the forest is lushest.

• Prepare drinking water and essential items, as facilities near the waterfall are limited.

• Help maintain cleanliness and take trash out of the area.

• Avoid swimming when the current is strong after heavy rain.
