Phu Soi Dao National Park (Phu Soi Dao National Park) is one of the most remarkable trekking destinations in Uttaradit Province. The highest peak reaches 2,102 meters above sea level, ranking as the 4th highest mountain in Thailand, with cool weather year-round and mountainous terrain along the Thai–Lao border.
Natural Highlights:
The highlight is the vast Phu Soi Dao Pine Field, a unique highland plain covered with three-needle pine trees arranged beautifully across open grassland.
During the rainy season, the area transforms into a purple field of Nakkha Flowers (Nakkha Flowers / Murdannia giganteum), creating a rare and stunning landscape.
Trekking Route:
The journey to the pine field is both challenging and rewarding. Visitors must hike approximately 6.5 kilometers, taking around 4–6 hours, through dense forest, streams, and steep trails.
Trekkers will conquer the famous Five Challenging Hills:
- Send Yat Hill
- Prab Sian Hill
- Pa Ko Hill
- Sua Khrong Hill
- Morana Hill
Each hill offers different levels of difficulty and scenery, with Prab Sian Hill being the toughest section.
Attractions at the Base:
At the foothill lies Phu Soi Dao Waterfall, a small multi-tiered waterfall surrounded by lush forest, ideal for relaxing before starting the trek and serving as an important water source.
Ecosystem and Biodiversity:
The park is rich in biodiversity, consisting of several forest types:
- Tropical Rainforest
- Montane Forest
- Pine Forest
It is home to wildlife such as barking deer, wild boars, and various bird species, along with rare high-altitude plants.

At the top, there is a designated camping ground with ranger supervision for safety.

How to Get There
- By Car: From Uttaradit city, take Highway No. 1045 toward Nam Pat district, then continue via Highways No. 1239 and 1268. Total distance is approximately 130 kilometers.
