“A stunning high-altitude pass at 5,420 meters with views of glaciers, lakes, and the towering peaks of the Himalayas. ”

Chola Pass is a prominent high-altitude mountain pass situated at approximately 5,420 meters above sea level in the Solukhumbu District of eastern Nepal. It forms a vital part of the Himalayan trekking circuit, especially for those traversing between Gokyo and the Everest Base Camp (EBC) route.

The trail typically branches off from the villages of Pheriche or Dingboche, leading trekkers toward Dzongla (4,830 m), from where the ascent to Chola Pass begins. The descent follows toward Thagnak (4,700 m), eventually reaching Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri, which offers panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and surrounding peaks.

The path to Chola Pass includes steep climbs, icy terrain, and awe-inspiring scenery such as Chola Lake and glacial crossings. It is a key section of the famous Three Passes Trek, which also includes Kongma La and Renjo La, and is best suited for experienced trekkers seeking adventure beyond the standard EBC trail.
