“An integrated lifestyle and transportation hub connected to the Keio Inokashira Line and featuring a walkway overlooking the world-famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing.”
Shibuya Mark City is a large-scale commercial complex located right next to Shibuya Station, Tokyo’s center of fashion, lifestyle, and transport. Opened in 2000 and developed by Tokyu Corporation, the complex was designed to cater to professionals and mature visitors seeking a balance of convenience, relaxation, and business in the heart of the city.
The complex is divided into two main areas:
-
East Mall: Spanning from the basement floor (B1) to the 4th floor, this section offers a variety of fashion stores, cosmetics, souvenirs, and cafés. The 4th floor features the “Shopping & Restaurant Avenue”, lined with well-known restaurants and lifestyle shops.
-
West Mall: Houses the Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu and several office spaces.
-
5th Floor – Bus Terminal: Home to the Shibuya Expressway Bus Terminal, a major hub connecting travelers to Narita International Airport, Haneda Airport, and popular destinations such as Lake Kawaguchi (Mount Fuji area) and Kusatsu Onsen. Approximate travel times: about 60 minutes to Haneda Airport and 120 minutes to Narita Airport, depending on traffic.
The Toyoko Noren Street food zone on the basement level offers a wide selection of traditional Tokyo foods and souvenirs, while the 4th floor hosts top-rated eateries such as Sushi no Midori (affordable yet high-quality sushi) and Soba Shiki (handmade stone-milled soba), as well as cafés and international restaurants. A large Daiso 100-yen shop is also located within the building.
Shibuya Mark City plays an important role as the location of the Keio Inokashira Line Station, which connects directly through the complex to the popular neighborhood of Kichijoji. The Avenue Exit on the 5th floor links directly to the Expressway Bus Terminal, offering unmatched connectivity for both city commuters and long-distance travelers.
Another major highlight is the elevated walkway connecting Mark City with Shibuya Station, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the iconic Shibuya Scramble Crossing from above — a highly popular photography spot for travelers worldwide.
How to Get There
- Take the JR Lines, Tokyo Metro, or Keio Inokashira Line to Shibuya Station. The complex is directly connected via the Inokashira Line concourse, with an Avenue Exit on the 5th floor leading to the Shibuya Expressway Bus Terminal. It can also be accessed from Dogenzaka Street, only a short walk from the famous Shibuya Crossing.
