“ A transparent riverside skywalk overlooking the meeting point of the two rivers, featuring panoramic city views and one of Kanchanaburi’s most beautiful sunset spots. ”

Skywalk Kanchanaburi(Skywalk Kanchanaburi)or Song Khwae–Mae Klong Skywalk is one of the newest and most popular landmarks in Kanchanaburi Province. The attraction stands out for its long transparent glass walkway stretching above the confluence of the Khwae Yai River and Khwae Noi River, which combine to form the famous Mae Klong River. This unique location makes it one of Thailand’s best spots to witness the striking “two-colored river” phenomenon.

The project was developed as part of a riverside tourism initiative aimed at boosting the local economy and revitalizing the city waterfront. The skywalk was carefully designed to extend alongside the river, allowing visitors to fully experience the surrounding scenery. The structure uses multi-layer laminated safety glass with high durability and strength, capable of supporting large numbers of visitors safely. The walkway stands approximately 12 meters above the ground and stretches around 150 meters long, creating the thrilling sensation of walking above the water.

One of the most impressive features of the skywalk is its 360-degree panoramic view. Visitors can enjoy sweeping vistas of Kanchanaburi city, including Khao Chon Kai Mountain, the Hall of the Supreme Patriarch’s History, the large white Buddha statue at Wat Tham Khao Laem, and the peaceful riverside communities with floating rafts and traditional river life that continue to define the identity of Kanchanaburi.

During the daytime, the transparent glass reflects the blue sky and flowing river beautifully, especially on clear days when the different shades of the merging rivers can be seen distinctly. In the late afternoon, the skywalk becomes one of the most romantic sunset viewpoints in the province. The golden sunlight reflecting across the glass floor and river surface creates an unforgettable atmosphere, making it ideal for photography, sightseeing, and relaxing walks.

At night, colorful decorative lighting illuminates the skywalk, transforming the riverside into a vibrant evening attraction and one of the most popular nighttime photo spots in Kanchanaburi. On weekends, especially Saturday evenings, the area below the skywalk becomes lively with the Song Khwae Walking Street, where visitors can enjoy local food, handmade products, souvenirs, and the warm atmosphere of the riverside community.

Thanks to its central location near the Kanchanaburi City Pillar Shrine, Pak Phraek Walking Street, and other important attractions, the skywalk is easy to include in a one-day city itinerary. Whether you are a photography enthusiast, café traveler, or someone looking to experience the charm of Kanchanaburi’s riverside culture, this skywalk is considered one of the must-visit destinations in the province.
