“ A transparent glass skywalk over 150 meters long, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the winding Khwae Yai River and surrounding mountains. ”

Skywalk Kanchanaburi is a riverside tourist landmark in downtown Kanchanaburi, developed as an elevated walkway for viewing the confluence of the Khwae Yai and Khwae Noi rivers, which merge into the Mae Klong River, widely known as the “two-color river” — a signature identity of Kanchanaburi. The project was designed under the concept of creating a riverside urban tourism experience by blending modern architecture with natural landscapes, allowing visitors to experience the river view from a perspective different from ground level. A transparent glass walkway is used as the main feature to create a sense of openness and provide a clear, unobstructed view of the flowing water below. The structure of the skywalk is built with a reinforced steel framework capable of supporting heavy loads. The walkway surface uses multi-layered tempered safety glass designed to withstand vibration and pressure from visitors, ensuring safety while walking. The walkway is approximately 12 meters above river level and extends for about 150 meters, allowing continuous panoramic viewing along the entire path.

As visitors walk onto the skywalk, they can clearly see the scenery of the two rivers converging, with the Khwae Yai River on one side and the Khwae Noi River on the other. The backdrop features mountains and traditional riverside communities that preserve their local way of life. The transparent floor enhances the thrilling experience of walking above the water surface. The atmosphere of the skywalk varies throughout the day. In the morning, it is calm and soft-lit, making it ideal for photography without crowds. In the afternoon, the light becomes stronger and the area gets busier with visitors. In the late afternoon and sunset period, it becomes the most popular time, as the golden sunlight reflects beautifully on the water surface, creating a stunning scenic view. The surrounding area is connected to a weekend walking street (Friday to Sunday), filled with local restaurants, cafés, and community shops, making it a lively hub for both tourists and locals. This turns the area into not only a viewpoint but also a central activity zone in the city.

In terms of transportation, visitors can arrive by private car or public transport. From Bangkok, travelers can take Phetkasem Road or Borommaratchachonnani Road toward Ratchaburi and then connect to Highway 323 into Kanchanaburi city. The skywalk is located near the riverside city area. For public transport, visitors can take a bus or minivan to Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal and continue by local transport for a short distance. The entrance fee is approximately 60 THB per person, which includes access to the site and anti-slip fabric shoes for walking on the glass surface. Children under 120 cm in height_ can enter for free. Visitors who bring back the provided shoes on return visits will pay a reduced fee.The best time to visit is early morning or between 16:30–18:00, when the weather is cooler and sunset views are at their most beautiful. Visitors are advised not to bring large bags, umbrellas, or large photography equipment onto the skywalk due to safety and storage limitations. Overall, Skywalk Kanchanaburi is a modern attraction that blends contemporary design with natural river scenery, becoming one of the key landmarks of downtown Kanchanaburi that continues to attract both Thai and international tourists.
