The Ancient Ordination Hall Walls

The remaining wall sections today showcase a stable foundation and ancient brick-laying techniques. The walls are thick and sturdy, acting as the primary load-bearing structure to minimize the need for numerous internal pillars. A key feature is the pointed-arch window openings, representing Western architecture integrated into a Thai building. The base of the walls often features decorative tiered lotus moldings (Than Pat), a style popular during the late Ayutthaya period. Fragments of remaining plaster suggest that these walls were once adorned with exquisite and beautiful stucco motifs.
