The Pedestal and Buddha Images in the Great Vihara

Inside the Great Vihara, a massive, intricately crafted brick and stucco pedestal ( "Than Chukchi") remains. This pedestal once supported the main Buddha image, serving as the central focus of religious devotion. Today, most of the images are only partially intact, while some have been moved to museums for preservation. The layout of the pedestal reflects a blend of Thai and Western architectural influences, emphasizing grandeur and light. These ruins signify the Vihara's importance as a prestigious venue for major royal and religious ceremonies.
