The Royal Dressing Hall

The Royal Dressing Hall, also known as Sala Pluang Khrueang, is strategically located at the very front of the temple, serving as the initial structure to welcome visitors arriving from the east. Historically, this hall functioned as a private pavilion where the King could relax and change his royal attire before participating in ceremonies within the Great Vihara. The building was designed as an open hall constructed from brick and stucco, notable for its pointed-arch windows, a defining characteristic of King Narai the Great’s reign. Currently, only the foundation, fragmented walls, and pillars remain, offering a glimpse into its past architectural splendor. Its placement as the first building signifies the royal protocol and sequence observed when entering a sacred religious site.
