Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat

This expansive historical site showcases the layering of civilizations from the Khmer era to the late Ayutthaya period. The layout centers on the main laterite prang, surrounded by a cloister and various styles of satellite stupas. Key structures within the grounds include the Great Vihara, the Royal Dressing Hall, and a small Ordination Hall to the south. A notable feature is the use of original laterite combined with brick and decorative stucco added during King Narai’s renovations. It serves as one of the most complete sites, preserving several eras of Thai art history within a single location.
