Ancient Stupas and the Prang of Wat Lai

Behind the nine-bay Vihara lies a collection of ancient stupas, with the central Prang serving as the primary structure. This brick-and-stucco Prang showcases early Ayutthaya artistic styles blended with Lopburi influences. The structure features indented corners and is adorned with delicate stucco patterns that remain beautiful despite the passage of time. Surrounding the main Prang are various satellite stupas in both circular and rectangular styles, indicating continuous construction and restoration across different eras. These stupas are not only architectural marvels but also stand as historical evidence that Wat Lai has been a center of faith for several centuries.
