Sala Daeng Temple

Sala Daeng Temple is a historic temple in Saraburi, established in 1768. It was originally named "Wat Kaeng Muang" after the rocky rapids and large mango trees along the Pasak River, before being renamed after a red-roofed pavilion that served as a rest stop for ancient pilgrims. The temple holds immense significance as the home of "Phra Phuttha Nirarokantraya Chaiwat Chaturathit," the Buddha of the Four Corners representing the East, graciously bestowed by King Rama IX and majestically enshrined in a four-porched pavilion opposite the Provincial Hall. Beyond being a center of faith through the blessings of Luang Pho Yai in the old ordination hall and the statue of Jivaka Komarabhacca, Wat Sala Daeng stands as an architectural landmark reflecting the history of the Pak Phrieo community and a primary destination for those seeking auspiciousness, protection, and spiritual well-being.
