Pa Sak Jolasid Dam is a clay-core earth dam constructed under the royal initiative of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (King Rama IX) to address flooding and drought problems in the Pa Sak River Basin, an area that had long faced water resource challenges. The name “Pa Sak Jolasid Dam” carries an auspicious meaning, referring to an efficient water storage dam on the Pa Sak River, reflecting the King’s vision of sustainable development and improved quality of life for the people. Today, the dam serves not only as a vital irrigation project but also as a major recreational and tourist attraction of Lopburi Province and central Thailand.

One of the most remarkable features of Pa Sak Jolasid Dam is its earthen dam crest, the longest in Thailand, stretching over 4,860 meters. Visitors can enjoy a ride on the tourist tram along the dam crest, offering panoramic views throughout the route. This experience allows travelers to feel the cool breeze while admiring the vast reservoir, which resembles a large freshwater sea, creating a relaxing and impressive atmosphere that highlights the grandeur of this royal project.

Along the dam crest route, there are important stopping points where visitors can pay respect to Phra Phuttha Rattanamanee Mahaphit Jolasid Mongkolchai (Luang Pu Yai Pa Sak), a large white Buddha statue gracefully enshrined beside the reservoir.
