Kowit Krathom Plai Na Mae Chaem originated from the concept of "Khun Kowit," who wished to open his family's home and agricultural land as an accommodation for those truly passionate about nature and rural life. The accommodation comprises simple wooden huts designed to blend seamlessly with the environment, situated amidst the terraced rice fields and mountains of Mae Chaem District, one of Chiang Mai Province's most beautiful terraced rice-growing areas.

The road leading to the homestay is a dirt road and steep; sedans cannot reach the accommodation. Guests can park their cars at the homestay's designated parking area and use the complimentary shuttle service provided by the accommodation. The main meeting points are around Mae Chaem town or the PTT Mae Chaem gas station. It is advisable to arrange the pick-up time with the accommodation in advance.
