“Phu Chanadai offers a 360-degree view of forests and the Mekong River, ideal for sunrise watching and nature photography.”
Phu Chanadai is a high and striking cliff within Pha Taem National Park, located in Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani. The cliff rises approximately 300–400 meters above sea level, providing clear views of the Mekong River and neighboring countries.
The area is rich in dry evergreen forest and native plant species, home to various wildlife and bird species. The trail to the summit has been developed for visitor safety, although it has some steep sections, and covers a distance of about 1–2 kilometers.
Phu Chanadai is one of the park’s most popular sunrise viewpoints, where visitors can witness golden sunlight reflecting off the Mekong River. Most tourists arrive early to avoid the strong sun and capture scenic photographs.
The park also offers nature trails and educational activities, with staff providing information about the local ecosystem and biodiversity. Nearby areas feature interesting rock formations and small streams, adding to the scenic charm of the landscape.
