Manju-sho Honzangenraku Shuzenji Main Store is one of the most iconic traditional sweet shops in the Shuzenji Onsen area. Conveniently located at the entrance to Shuzenji Temple, the shop has long been a favorite stop for visitors exploring this historic hot spring town on the Izu Peninsula.
Its signature item, Gomamitsu Manju, is a freshly steamed bun made with black sesame and bamboo charcoal, giving it a distinctive deep black color. Inside is a secret-recipe filling of black sesame blended with honey, creating a rich, nutty sweetness that flows like lava when bitten into.
Many visitors enjoy these manju hot at the shop or while strolling along the nearby Katsura River, making Honzangenraku an essential culinary experience when visiting Shuzenji.
How to Get There

Take the Izuhakone Railway Sunzu Line to Shuzenji Station, exit the station and board a bus from Platform 1 bound for Shuzenji Onsen, get off at the final stop, Shuzenji Onsen Bus Stop, walk 3–5 minutes toward Shuzenji Temple
