“It stands out with its long, pristine beaches, diverse ecosystems, and beautiful islands perfect for relaxation and diving.”
Laem Son National Park is a significant and famous location renowned for the abundant natural beauty of its marine environment. It occupies a total area of 315 sq. km. and is situated across Amphoe Mueang and Amphoe Kapoe in Ranong Province, extending to Amphoe Khura Buri in Phang Nga Province.
This area comprises approximately 60 kilometers of coastline and various islands in the Andaman Sea, including Koh Kang Kao and Mu Ko Kam. These features were formed by millions of years of geological changes and erosion from waves and sea winds, resulting in beautiful beaches, casuarina forests, mangrove forests, and healthy coral reefs. The sea around the islands and offshore is rich in marine life with many habitats present, including coral reefs, open water, seagrass beds, mangrove swamps, estuarine areas, and beaches. The park includes some very important nursery grounds for economically important species.
At this national park, there are two distinct seasons. The rainy season starts from May to November. The summer season begins in December and lasts until April.
The park plays a crucial role in conserving marine and coastal natural resources, as well as preserving the unique biodiversity of this region.
During the summer season, the atmosphere is lively with tourists who come to relax, swim, snorkel, and visit various islands, such as Koh Kam Yai, Koh Kam Nui, Koh Mu, Koh Piak Nam Noi, Koh Piak Nam Yai, Koh Thao, Koh Khang Khao, Koh Lan, and Koh Khai Yai. These islands boast clear waters and fine white sand beaches, truly ideal for relaxation.
This place is also suitable for those who love marine adventures, capturing stunning natural scenery through photography, and those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle for a peaceful retreat.
If you want to experience and learn about the unique beauty of the Andaman Sea, along with its rich ecosystem, Laem Son National Park is a must-visit destination.
