“At night, it is lit up during the autumn foliage season and candle light event held in the snowfall season. ”
Futami Park Jozankei is a small park. The place is simple. At night, the lights during the autumn foliage season are very beautiful. There is a Kappa statue (Kappa Daio), which is a symbol of Jozankei Onsen. The red bridge Futamitsuri Bridge is a highlight that cuts across the river. It is the starting point of the Futami Jozan Road nature trail. You can see the two peaks of rock called Futami Iwa at Kappabuchi Pond from the suspension bridge. The walkway to the bridge to Kappa Shrine is a place to take pictures. The walkway is easy and not difficult. The view is beautiful along the river. You should go early in the morning so there won't be many people.
Futami Park was named by Isezo Sato because the scenery is similar to his hometown, Futami-ga-ura in Ise Prefecture. He called the two rocks Meoto Iwa (Married Rocks) to commemorate his hometown and pray for the development of Jozankei Onsen.
