Hinoki Land is a major Japanese-style tourist landmark in Thailand, located in Chai Prakan District, Chiang Mai Province, on an area of over 83 rai. It was developed with the concept of showcasing Japanese architecture, art, culture, and way of life for visitors to experience up close. Surrounded by the nature and mountains of northern Thailand, the atmosphere perfectly resembles a rural Japanese town.

The centerpiece of the project is the Hinoki Castle, a 4-story fragrant Hinoki wood building inspired by ancient Japanese castles. Hinoki wood, or Hinoki Cypress, is highly regarded in Japan for its strength, durability, and subtle aroma, making it a popular choice for constructing shrines and important buildings. Inside the castle, visitors can find exhibitions of art objects, samurai attire, collectibles, and items reflecting unique Japanese culture, along with observation points offering beautiful panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding areas.

Another must-see highlight for tourists is the distinctively long red torii gate tunnel, complemented by a red lantern tunnel, a Japanese garden, koi ponds, wooden bridges, and various photo spots. Every element is meticulously designed, making Hinoki Land one of Chiang Mai's popular check-in locations for both leisure and photography.

To complete the Japanese experience, visitors can rent Kimono and Yukata sets, complete with accessories, Japanese umbrellas, and traditional footwear, to enjoy taking photos within the premises. There are various sizes available for both children and adults, making it suitable for families, couples, or groups of friends.

Hinoki Land also features Japanese restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops offering products made from Hinoki wood, as well as various Japanese-style goods and snacks for purchase. Additionally, there are resting areas and comprehensive facilities to accommodate visitors.

The best time to visit is during the morning or late afternoon after the sun softens, as the weather is pleasant and ideal for photography, especially during Chiang Mai's winter season. The atmosphere, embraced by mountains and gentle mist, enhances Hinoki Land's charm, making it seem like a small town in Japan. It is thus a popular year-round destination for those seeking a Japanese ambiance without traveling far.

• From Chiang Mai city, take Highway 107 (Chiang Mai–Fang), passing through Mae Taeng and Chiang Dao Districts, and entering Chai Prakan District. The distance is approximately 130–140 kilometers, taking about 2.5–3 hours. Upon reaching Sri Dong Yen Sub-district, there are clear signs indicating the entrance to Hinoki Land. It is easily accessible by private car, van, and tourist bus, with a large parking lot available for visitors.

• Spend approximately 1–2 hours to capture photos at various spots thoroughly.

• Recommend renting a kimono or yukata to enhance the photo atmosphere.

• Morning and after 3:30 PM are the best times for beautiful light, ideal for photography.

• Winter (November–January) offers pleasant cool weather and a particularly beautiful atmosphere.

• Prepare your camera or a spare battery, as there are many photo opportunities.

• Can be visited on the same day as Doi Ang Khang, Nolaw Village or Mon Son Viewpoint.
