Mon Sone Viewpoint is located on Doi Ang Khang within the Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park. It is a scenic viewpoint situated at an altitude of approximately 1,787 meters above sea level. This location features a wide terrace on a mountain ridge that offers a clear, panoramic view of the Dan Lao Mountain Range. During the winter and rainy seasons, Mon Sone Viewpoint is highly famous for its sea of mist, which is thick and vast, beautifully covering the valley below amidst the pine trees that line the area.

Mon Sone Viewpoint is important as one of the highest rest areas and campgrounds on Doi Ang Khang. In the past, this area was part of the development of Doi Ang Khang to promote eco-tourism. • Private Car: From Chiang Mai city, take Highway 107 towards Fang. At KM 137, turn left into Highway 1249 and drive up Doi Ang Khang. The road is very steep; please ensure your vehicle is in good condition.

• Public Transport: You can charter a White Truck (Songthaew) at the entrance to Doi Ang Khang (Wat Hat Samran junction) to reach the viewpoint and other sites on the mountain.

• Best Time: Available all year, but November to January offers the best chance to see the sea of mist and experience extreme cold.

• Dress Code: Prepare thick jackets, gloves, and socks, as temperatures can drop to 0-5°C in winter.

• Photography: A tripod is recommended for pre-sunrise shots and night star photography.

• Caution: Driving up and down Doi Ang Khang requires high caution and the use of low gears due to steep slopes and many hairpin turns.
