Shitenno-ji Eireido (Old Bell Tower)

The Eireido (formerly the Great Bell Tower) is a sacred hall dedicated to the memorial of war victims and deceased souls. Rebuilt after WWII, it houses a massive memorial bell. It is famous for the shoryo-nagashi ritual, where spirits are guided to the Western Paradise through prayer and water. Architecturally, it is one of the largest bell towers in Japan, symbolizing peace and eternal rest.
