“Explore the miraculous natural phenomenon of Lan Hin Pum, take photos at the panoramic Pha Chu Thong cliff, and learn about the historical conflicts of the past at the Political and Military School.”

Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park is a unique travel spot unlike anywhere else in Thailand. It doesn’t just have green forests, but it is also a land full of historical stories and strange-looking geological features. This area is located on the border of three provinces: Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, and Loei. This makes the weather cold almost all year, especially in winter when the temperature can drop to single digits. In the past, this place was a major base for the Communist Party of Thailand. We can still see traces of old living quarters and offices hidden under the trees, which is a charm that attracts tourists to see it for themselves.

Important travel spots inside the park:

  • Political and Military School A group of old wooden houses among pine and maple trees. In the beginning of the year, maple leaves turn bright red and fall onto the roofs, making it look beautiful like being abroad.

  • Water-Powered Flour Mill Built in the past to grind rice and food for people living in the forest. It shows the amazing wisdom of using nature for daily life.

  • State Hospital Hidden deep in the forest to treat the wounded in the old days. Walking here is like reading a giant, living history book.

  • Lan Hin Pum A wide stone plain full of round, knob-like rocks popping up everywhere. It was caused by wind and water erosion over millions of years. It’s a very beautiful and strange spot for photos.

  • Chu Thong Cliff A steep cliff with a very wide view as far as the eye can see. It is one of the most beautiful sunset spots and has history as the place where flags were raised after battles in the past.

  • Lan Hin Taek A large area of cracked rocks deep into the ground. Some cracks have strange plants and green moss growing, looking beautiful and mysterious at the same time.

  • Royal Forest Development Project If you come in winter, you must visit to see the "Paper Flower Fields" blooming along the stone cliffs. These colorful flowers look perfect against the brown stones.

With the variety of nature and history, Phu Hin Rong Kla is not just a place to relax, but a giant natural classroom waiting for everyone to find. Walking on the nature trails with fresh air will refresh your body from tiredness. Whether you want to see stone wonders, feel the cold air, or follow the history, every step on this mountain will give you a great experience and beautiful memories.
