Zochoten (The Right Guardian of Chumon)
Standing on the right side of the Chumon Gate is Zochoten, the Guardian of the South. His name translates to "Lord who expands" or "The Increaser of Goodness."
Depicted as a powerful celestial general in full battle armor, he often holds a spear or a long sword. Zochoten represents the active growth of spiritual wisdom and the fierce suppression of obstacles that hinder the path to enlightenment within the temple.
