Phu Kha National Park is the source of numerous streams and carries ancient history linked to the legends of Nan’s people. It sits at 1,980 meters above sea level and spans about 1,050,000 rai, covering parts of Pua, Chiang Klang, Thung Chang, Mae Charim, Tha Wang Pha, San Suk, and Bo Kluea districts.
The terrain is rugged and beautiful, with steep mountains and diverse forests including montane forest, moist evergreen forest, dry evergreen forest, pine forest, dry dipterocarp forest, mixed deciduous forest, and palm forest, rich in biodiversity. The park also features caves, waterfalls, and breathtaking views.
Notable attractions include the Pink Shower Tree (Cassia garrettiana), once thought extinct until rediscovered here. The tree blooms spectacularly from February to March.
Doi Phu Wa features expansive grasslands and rocky plateaus ideal for viewing the sea of mist and sunrise.
Pha Khong Cave is a large cave with many chambers formed by stalactites and stalagmites but is closed during the rainy season.
Sila Phet Waterfall is a large, shaded waterfall where visitors can swim safely.
There are also nature trails perfect for viewing rare plant species and abundant wildlife.

How to Get There

The park is about 85 km from Nan city via Highway 1080 (Nan-Pua), approximately 60 km to Pua district.

From Pua, take the Pua-Bo Kluea route for another 25 km to reach the park headquarters located on a hillside (km marker 24-25).
