Wat Nermmit Vipassana was founded in 1978 by Phra Kru Phawan Wisutthiyan (Luang Pho Maha Phan Silavisuttho), a meditation master of the Vipassana tradition, who initially came to practice asceticism at Phu Ploi hill.
