Phra Phuttha Champhunut Mahaburut Lakkhana Asitayanubophit

Phra Phuttha Champhunut Mahaburut Lakkhana Asitayanubophit is the principal Buddha image in the Subduing Mara posture, enshrined in the Minor Vihara of Wat Arun. This Buddha image is notably cast in copper and covered entirely with gold leaf, displaying majestic features based on the characteristics of a Great Man (Mahapurusha). It was commissioned during the reign of King Rama III, coinciding with the major restoration of the temple during that era. The name of the Buddha image carries a profound meaning, referring to The Buddha who possesses the complete 80 secondary characteristics of a Great Man, making it a rare and highly revered sacred object.
