The Sacred Pedestals

Inside the Minor Vihara of Wat Arun lies theMeditation Pedestal of King Taksin the Great, which King Rama II highly revered during his time residing at the adjacent palace. King Rama II spent much of his early life here, engaging in royal duties and artistic pursuits, cementing the temple's status as his representative shrine. Although his personal royal bedstead was later moved to Wat Prayurawongsawat, the legacy of both kings remains intertwined through the sacred sites at Wat Arun. Today, visitors frequently crawl under the pedestal in a traditional ritual believed to bring great fortune and wash away bad luck.
